The power points on pontoons 8 -12 will be upgraded over the winter. As well as a complete rewire, new bollards will be installed with the latest light fittings. Pontoons 1 - 7 were replaced last winter. A rolling program also gets underway to refurbish the berth holders’ showers. The first phase will target a number of shower cubicles in the men’s block.

NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2014
Now that the suntans are fading! your Committee has been working hard on communications with both the Council and PMBHA members.
- Barry and Llyr’s slide presentation in October can now be seen via our website www.pmbha.co.uk together with Notes of the meeting.
- Following the October meeting Barry officially confirmed that all of the Hafan and Harbour charges including annual berthing, will increase by 1% for the year 2015/16. No decision has yet been made on the excessive charges (c.32% APR) made for payment by instalment. We hope to receive some news on this shortly.
- Barry confirmed at the recent Harbour Consultative Committee meeting that he has reviewed both the Hafan banding and LOA charging systems and decided that there will be no change.
- The PMBHA concerns regarding the type of fuel supplied in the Hafan are still unresolved. Both the Council and Maritime unit refuse to acknowledge that there is a safety issue with the fuel they supply i.e: not marine standard as recommended by the RYA and other bodies. Your Committee will continue to escalate this safety issue and keep you informed via the website.
- At the recent Harbour Consultative Committee (HCC) meeting, your chairman, David Dewsbury, offered to meet with the Marine Traders Association to discuss adding value for existing berth holders and attracting new customers. However, unfortunately, after further discussion they did not consider our suggestions would be worthwhile and therefore declined to meet.
- Your Chairman attended the recent HCC meeting. The Notes from the meeting can be seen on our website. www.pmbha.co.uk
- We are still awaiting news as to whether a refurbishment to the showers will happen in the future. This appears to be a major issue with many of our members so we will continue to pursue this.
- Bohdan and Ruth, with help from others, are continuing with their improvements to the website and a mass mailing system to replace Yahoo is proving successful. This work will continue so please bear with us during these changes. If you are not receiving direct emails this could be because of over zealous spam filters. Please put our email account [email protected] into your address book if you are having problems and this should solve the issue.
- Yahoo Groups is still in operation but will probably be shut down in due course. If you wish to remove yourself from Yahoo and have difficulty, please contact us on the above email address and we will do it for you.
- Bardsey Special Protected Areas (SPA) changes may have caused concerns so please see our website for more information. www.pmbha.co.uk Our current understanding is that there will be no issues, which will concern members. The changes concern future activities such as wind farms, drilling etc.
- You may also notice that we have a new logo, which we hope you all like.
Your Committee wishes you all the best for Christmas and 2015 and would like to say thanks for your continued support.
Best regards.
David Dewsbury, Chairman
